PhotoVoice - PhotoWalk in Camden
On June 11, 2019, we partnered with Heart of Camden to organize a Focus Group with 18 residents and stakeholders from the Waterfront South neighborhood. Participants captured about 900 photos of the neighborhood, documenting environmental assets, challenges, and potential for improvements. Photocollage Workshop in Camden
On June 18, 2019, we partnered with Heart of Camden to host the second focus group meeting and organize a photo collage workshop with 15 residents and stakeholders from the Waterfront South neighborhood. GIS Workshop @ National Summer Transportation Institute
On July 12, 2019, Dr. Mahbubur Meenar conducted a half-day GIS and Geovisualization workshop. The workshop was a part of the 2-week National Summer Transportation Institute 2019, organized by CREATEs at Rowan University. Twenty NJ high school students participated in this workshop through a competitive selection process across the state. Shane Walsh, a former student of the Geography, Planning, and Sustainability department and currently employed at the US Census, assisted Dr. Meenar and presented several case studies. Workshop activities also included a lecture, GIS labs, brainstorming activities, impromptu group projects, and student presentations.
Greening Waterfront South - Final Presentation
On September 9, 2019, we presented the final draft of our green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) prioritization and placemaking plan to the Waterfront South community. This was the final public presentation of our Greening Waterfront South project, sponsored by Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority and Rowan University. As usual, we partnered with our community partners Heart of Camden and Camden FireWorks to organize this event.
